SPECTACULAR CHASE IN STORMY SEAS

Dominic Champagne revolutionized the staging of great mythical tales with The Odyssey. Now he is back again with the work that unveiled America’s own excess, a great epic fable punctuated with extraordinary adventures. For in this vigorous pursuit of a terrifying white sperm whale, written by Herman Melville in the mid-19th century, the founding confrontation of the New World unfolds: the titanic struggle between the forces of nature and human obsessions.

To discover life and the world, the young Ishmael embarks on the Pequod, a whaling ship commanded by the dreaded Captain Ahab. He barely has time to get to know the culturally diverse crew when Ahab announces their ultimate mission: not to hunt whales but rather to slaughter the monstrous Moby Dick who once crippled him.

Normand D’Amour, who so powerfully embodies authority and strength, will play Captain Ahab, heading an impressive casting of actors, acrobats and musicians that will take you to the seas of the world on board a cursed boat.

To book your tickets, visit the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde website.

Taking place on the evening of September 24 will be the launch of the Moby Dick exhibition by Caroline Jacques. Echoing the Moby Dick play, the opening of this exhibition will be held just before the premiere of the latter at the Centre for Sustainable Development.
