Distinctive traits

Perseids owes its name to the almost entirely black ventral side of its tail, which resembles a night sky dotted with shooting stars. There are also several white spots on both sides of the dorsal fin.

Life history

The first year it visited the estuary, Perseids was mainly observed resting, “billotting”. The second year, he was reportedly more active. At its last sighting in 2010, the animal was reported to be very thin.
