With its curious little notches in its fin, Ba036 is nicknamed Diavolezza (“she-devil” in Italian) and is added to Mériscope’s minke whale catalogue in 2005. At the time, its fin is well defined, suggesting that the individual is at least 6 years old. Today it must be in its twenties. Since 2005, Diavolezza has been observed nearly a dozen times by the Mériscope team: in 2005 and 2007 in the Portneuf-sur-Mer and Longue-Rive sector, and, since 2016, in the vicinity of Les Escoumins and Tadoussac. Relatively stocky and seemingly very curious, it approached our Zodiac several times following the biopsy in September of this year.
