After the pioneering belugas that ventured into Baie des Ha!\u00a0Ha! last week, this week it is the humpbacks\u2019 turn to make headlines for their adventures.\u00a0After visiting the mouth of the Saguenay, they proceeded to swim up the fjord, reaching and even going beyond \u00cele Saint-Louis on Friday, July 22!<\/p>\n
Naturalist and wildlife photographer Renaud Pintiaux was on the water and had the chance to follow them almost the entire day. \u201cPectoral fins lifted into the air and slapping the surface,\u201d he writes, describing the whales\u2019 behaviour in the brackish waters of the fjord.\u00a0And that\u2019s not all: there were some incredible breaches throughout the day.\u00a0Then, at around 8 o\u2019clock that evening, they headed back to the mouth of the Saguenay.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
