Proposed activities include a workshop on disentanglement techniques, a presentation on the Bryde&#8217;s whale and a live question-and-answer session with experts.<\/p>\n<p>According to Cisco Werner, Acting Director of Scientific Programs and Chief Science Advisor, &#8220;2016 was a banner year for whale conservation at NOAA Fisheries.&#8221; In response to decades of conservation efforts, nine of the fourteen humpback whale populations have been removed from the U.S. List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife.
