Over the past 25 years, his research has focused on the acoustics of killer whales. He is currently working for the Oceans Protection Plan to reduce the risk of collision between ships and whales, particularly with southern resident killer whales. He is studying options for whale detection and alerts to ships as well as other management measures to mitigate the impact of the maritime traffic.<\/p>\n<p>He will give a conference at the Center of Interpretation on Marine Mammals in Tadoussac, on July 24, at 8 pm.
