The study was conducted by V\u00e9ronique Lesage, species-at-risk researcher at the Maurice Lamontagne Institute of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (together with her team) and by Richard Sears of the Mingan Island Cetacean Study. They have been tracking North Atlantic blue whales in hopes of learning more about their range and their migratory behaviour.
