3:25 PM: near Île aux Pommes off the coast of Trois-Pistoles, we’re in the company of DL1214 in a herd of some sixty young belugas divided into seven groups. The belugas are active: some individuals are “porpoising”, meaning they’re swimming with their bodies raised out of the water; others are showing their tails.
